1. Who we are and who can sell
We Buy Mobile Phones is a trading name of I AM DROID LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12062250. Our registered office and business address is 58 James Street, Bradford, BD1 3PZ, United Kingdom.
We Buy Mobile Phones buys devices directly from customers in the United Kingdom. These terms apply between you and I AM DROID LTD, trading as We Buy Mobile Phones, and cover your sale to us. Business and correspondence details are on the Contact page.
You must be at least 18, live in the UK, have capacity to enter a contract, and own the device or have the owner’s express authority to sell it. A business or bulk sale needs separate written agreement.
2. Ownership, model and condition
Provide accurate model, storage, network, condition and contact details. Disclose battery health and warnings, replacement batteries, replaced LCD/OLED screens, non-genuine parts, liquid damage and all functional faults. Choose “unknown” where appropriate rather than guessing.
The device must not be stolen, blacklisted, subject to outstanding finance or someone else’s rights, or protected by an activation lock you cannot remove. IMEI identification is not proof of ownership, finance clearance or blacklist status. We may ask for proportionate evidence of ownership or age and explain why it is needed.
Do not send a device with a swollen, leaking, damaged or recalled battery. Contact the team for safe next steps. We do not accept a device merely because it appears in the catalogue.
3. Quotes and submitting a sale
An indicative amount depends on the exact variant and your answers. A “manual quote” is not a promise to pay a particular amount. Submitting a sale records your request and starts the review and inspection process; it does not complete the purchase.
We will state any quote expiry, posting deadline, charge, carrier arrangement and payment estimate in your written sale instructions before you send the device. Do not assume a price is held indefinitely, postage is free or a parcel has a particular level of insurance. If the instructions are incomplete, ask us before posting.
If we identify a pricing or catalogue error, we explain the correction. You may withdraw before posting or decline the final offer after inspection. We do not silently substitute a different price.
4. Before you send your device
Follow our Shipping policy. Back up your data, sign out of your Apple, Google and other accounts, disable Find My and activation locks, remove SIM and memory cards, remove or transfer eSIMs, then securely erase and factory-reset the device. Keep copies of anything you need.
Do not include account passwords, unlock codes or banking credentials in the parcel or messages. Do not send accessories unless requested. We cannot promise that personal content left on a device will be recoverable. We do not exclude responsibility for our own unlawful handling of personal data.
5. Inspection and your final decision
We check the model and storage, cosmetics, screen and touch, battery, repairs, charging, cameras, sound, biometrics and relevant lock or ownership issues. We record findings and send a final offer to your account. If the amount differs from an earlier indication, we explain the reason.
You may accept the final offer or request a return. Silence is not acceptance. We will not treat a device as sold, sell it on or recycle it just because you have not replied. If you need more time, message us.
Inspection does not authorise a chargeable repair, destructive test or irreversible alteration. If additional work is needed, we explain it and seek your agreement. Our lawful duties concerning unsafe or suspected stolen devices remain applicable.
6. Contract, payment and ownership
A binding purchase agreement at the stated final price is made when you accept our final inspection offer in your account. The payment method and expected timescale must be confirmed before acceptance. Website submission and initial quotes are not final acceptance.
Payment is arranged manually by the team by the agreed bank-transfer or PayPal method. A payment status or reference is evidence of a recorded action, not a guarantee that your bank or payment provider has credited the funds. Tell us promptly if payment does not arrive when expected. We never need your banking password, card PIN or one-time security code.
Ownership passes to us when the full agreed payment has cleared. Until then we must not resell or recycle your device. After a completed purchase, a change of mind does not automatically reverse the sale; any applicable legal rights remain unaffected.
7. Cancellation, returns and unclaimed devices
Before posting, cancel in your account or message the team. If already posted, contact us immediately so we can identify the parcel. Before you accept the final offer, you may decline it and request the device back. The Returns & cancellation policy explains the process and disclosure of any agreed costs.
We will not impose an undisclosed inspection, administration, storage or return charge. Any return-postage arrangement must be explained and agreed before you post. We do not take ownership or dispose of an unanswered or unclaimed device under an automatic deadline; any such situation must be handled with notice and in accordance with applicable law.
8. Care, loss and your rights
We take reasonable care of devices in our custody. Transit responsibility depends on who arranged carriage and the written instructions provided before dispatch; carrier limits do not remove any responsibility we have under the law. Report a problem promptly and keep packaging and tracking evidence.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing removes your mandatory legal rights. No blanket waiver of our responsibility is required to sell to us.
9. Questions, complaints and disputes
Use the Contact page or your sale message thread, quoting the sale reference and the outcome you seek. We will investigate fairly and explain the outcome. Data-protection complaints and ICO escalation are described in the Privacy notice.
The law of England and Wales applies, subject to any mandatory protections applicable where you live. Nothing in these terms prevents a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland from relying on applicable protections or using the courts available to them.
10. Changes and records
The version presented when you submit your sale is recorded with that sale. Material changes to an existing transaction require notice and, where necessary, agreement; a later website edit does not silently rewrite your agreed terms. Keep a copy of your offer, instructions and these terms.
Use your account to keep questions, findings and updates together.
